She likes it her way...

Maddie is very particular how she likes her things, we like to call it OCD. She has always liked things stacked and sorted in her own special and very specific way. When she was making the block line in the picture above she said to me "sit momma, help me" after I had placed a few blocks in her line she got a distressed look on her face, shook her head and said "bye-bye momma, my turn, my turn, bye-bye"... apparently my block laying skills were not up to par.

these next few pictures are just things I happened to randomly find throughout the house that tells me... Maddie was here.

Mila's Daydreams...

"My little pearl"

"Floating through the sky"

"Bookworm"

This is such a sweet blog... I love the creativity!! Milas' mom started a new hobby during her maternity leave, to try and create scenes that would speak to her daughters dreams. Check out her blog here... www.milasdaydreams.blogspot.com/

Oh, if I was having another girl...

I stumbled across this precious nursery designed by Ashley Campbell... if you haven't visited her blog I suggest you do that now. www.ashleyannphotography.com/blog/ She is a very talented photographer and I just love her sense of style and design.

I was blown away by this tissue pom/lantern hanging fixture. I already have the poms, if I can find some paper lanterns Maddie may have this installed in her room shortly :)

Sharing with baby Jack...

Maddie loves stickers... what 2-year old doesn't?
I was excited to see that Maddie was feeling gracious enough to share her special toy story stickers to help decorate baby Jack.
Maybe this is a good sign?

Jacks' room...

Jacks' new room is coming along... we were originally going to put him in the guest room, but we decided to give him our master bedroom and instead we would move into the smaller room, are we not awesome parents or what?? Don't even get me started on the closet differences.
We decided to paint the room beige and go with a nature theme if you will... trees, birds and such.

Here are a few things that we have and are working on in his room...

I fell in love with these curtains when I originally saw them in a nursery featured on ohdeedoh.com ... I was even happier when I found them still available online at Urban Outfitters. Needless to say the next day six panels were ordered, yay!!

I found this 5x8 woodgrain rug at Target and it was a bargain: rug, check!

These vinyl trees are another favorite find from the best site ever... ETSY!!

They were pretty easy to apply but it took forever figuring out which branch to put on which tree... all in all, I love them!! Definitely my favorite part of the room. I'm thinking about putting all kinds of different picture frames on the wall to create a type of family tree. Maybe.

I made these little birds to put on a tree branch that we're going to hang for the mobile.

And here is a peek of the room right now, as I said before... we are still working on the room, but we do have a lot of things figured out. This has probably been my favorite part preparing for Jack's arrival, I love seeing it all come together!!

Mmmm... I want these!!

I love these shoes... "Morocco Women's vegan classics" from TOMS shoes.

I have never actually purchased a pair of TOMS shoes but everyone I've talked to who has says that they love them and they are super comfy. Maybe one of the things that attracts me the most to this brand of shoe is that for every pair you purchase TOMS will give a new pair of shoes to a child in need. It's called their "One for One" program and according to their website they are on track for giving away their one millionth pair away to a child in need this September, awesome!! What a great company and one that I will definitely be shopping with very soon :)

You can check out their site here... http://toms.com/

You can also find it under "my favorite online places" at the top right hand corner of my blog.

Baby Jack... or as Maddie calls him "Bebe Dack"

Here's the latest addition to the Cunningham clan, introducing... Baby Jack!! We had three ultrasounds with this little guy due to some "complications" that are no longer complications, yay. We had a feeling it was a boy from the beginning and decided to name him after Kevins' grandfather, Jack. We can't decide on a middle name yet, but hopefully we can come up with something in the next couple of months, hopefully. Boys names are hard for me for some reason, oh well. He is due on October 30th... as we all know Halloween is the 31st and some know that my birthday is November 1st, so we are hoping that he will decide to not make his grand entrance on either of those two days, lol. Actually, we are hoping he decides to follow his big sisters lead and come a couple weeks early, please? :)

With Maddie we had an awesome home birth experience(yes, on purpose - always the first question people ask me when they find out she was delivered at home). With Jack, we are also planning on another home birth. I was always nervous with Maddie about the fear of the "unknown" involved with pushing a human being out of your body... however it was such a quick and great experience. Now I couldn't even imagine having a hospital birth. With baby Jack... I no longer have a fear of the "unknown"... it's a definite fear of the known, lol. Even though Maddie's birth was a great experience, it's not something you really look forward to doing again... the bigger I get the more I realize "oh, crap... this thing has got to come out". I am looking forward to NOT being pregnant anymore, some women love it and claim it's "amazing" or that they "never felt better". I would like to know where those women live so I can come over and kick them. Morning sickness, Exhaustion and weight gain is not exactly my idea of a good time.

We are excited about baby Jack and look forward to meeting this new little guy.
Hopefully sooner than later :)

15 months and 9 days later...

Ok, so... I may not be the best blogger ever, but isn't one blog post a year enough?? Alright, maybe not. Since my last post was about Maddie's first birthday party I find it only appropriate to start this one with her second birthday party. After last years "pretty in pink" party we decided this year to have a "polka dot party". I'm trying to stay away from Mickey and Nemo as long as I possibly can :) Here are some pictures of the big day which also came with a special announcement to all our family and friends(see Maddies tee).

Mesmerized by the fire... but what two year old wouldn't be?
(that's right it's big sister time!! baby #2 due in October)

Trying to blow out her candle...

Polka dot cake and cookies

Where the mass present opening commenced

Sweet cousin eden

These tissue poms were a source of great delight...

We got a POTTY... I think this may have been the last time she sat on it though, we are not a big fan... bummer.

Enough presents? oh yeah, and a baby bump.

All the party people... well at least some of them. And yes, those are paper plates tacked all over my walls... we needed polka dots people!!
