Some party guests
Some sweet treats... yummy-all pink, of course!! :)
Unbelievable... Maddie is officially a one year old!! My how time flies... It seems as though it was just yesterday that she was learning to hold her head up, roll over, sit up, crawl and walk. Now I have a very busy toddler on my hands!! She is such a good little girl... loving, happy, playful, very curious, determined and sweet.
She can now say several words: ball, doggie(her favorite), hi, bye-bye, uh oh, pretty, nose, mama, cow, awww, dada, baby, bite and a lot more partial words that need a little more perfecting. She loves to mimic all sounds and words, she especially likes making monkey, cow and doggies sounds. She loves music (must get that from her dada and baba-my dad) she dances to anything with a beat by shaking her head back and forth... then lifting it to see whose watching... gives a big smile then back to shaking. She claps anytime she hears clapping or sees it on TV when daddy is watching sports. She mimics laughing with her own fake laugh that is hysterical and coughing(which can sometimes be a problem-like in church for example). She loves books - especially if they are of the touch and feel variety. She really likes baby dolls and will hug them and say "awwww" even sometimes she will pat them on the back to make them feel better. We go on tons of walks and every time time we see a "doggie" she throws both arms in the arms shaking them vigorously saying "hi doggie, hi doggie, hiiiiiiiii" she has the cutest little wave were she sticks her whole arm out, bends at the elbow to bring her hand close to her face and brings her fingers down to touch the pad of her hand while shaking... it almost looks like she revving up a motorcycle. she gives big slobbery sweet kisses and likes to use her tongue. She is very-very active from the moment she wakes til the moment she drops at night, she is constantly on the go. She is taking two 1.5hour naps a day and sleeps about 8 hours every night(waking 3-4 times). She has started shaking hands, can locate a nose and gives high fives(when she's in the mood). She is the very definition of a toddler and a handful but we love and have enjoyed every minute of it!! She is such a blessing to us!!
We recently had her first birthday party and I will be the first to admit I got a little carried away... we had a "pretty in pink" bash here in Murray. The house was covered with everything pink we could find and the guests had to wear pink as well(all of them... even the men). Between the 40 yards of pink toule, flamingos, pink tulips, pink homemade banners, pink balloons, tutu's and pink food... the house look like pepto bismol, a very attractive pepto bismol :) It was a great day... she devoured her cake, got way too many presents and was very happy the entire day. Here are way too many pictures(however considering 593 pictures were taken, I did pretty good in only posting these ones:) ) of the big day where my little girl celebrated turning one!!
Eden testing out one of Maddie's presents... a pink polka dot chair, love it!!

giving a show
She was pretty excited when daddy came near with some pink kisses
Wade had fallen and busted his lip... so I was hurrying to get him a washcloth and totally forgot in all the mayhem that Maddie was holding a kiss. Then all the sudden I noticed something brown dripping out of her mouth, I thrust my finger in there and retrieved what was let of the chocolate and the mashed foil wrapper. Funny looking back... but wasn't so funny then, it scared me to death!! She got her first taste of chocolate on at her party... I guess that's fitting :)
Maddie and her CiCi
Yeah, I made that b-day banner with a sewing machine... I got mad skills, lol.

I got crafty and made these cupcake lollipops... pretty difficult, but they turned out soo cute and they tasted soo good and the kiddos loved them. The inside is crumbled chocolate cake mixed with icing and then they were dipped in chocolate - yum!! They will definitely be made again :) Martha Stewart ain't got nothing on me - Ha
